My favorite memory of my Grandpa is when my Dad and I went to visit him about two years ago.. It was a beautiful day so my Grandpa, Dad, and my cousins all piled into the car to go to a football field 20 minutes away. When we arrived, everyone helped to take something out of the trunk, whether it was a football, lacrosse sticks or baseball gloves. As my family and I walked down to the football field, I could tell it was going to be a fun afternoon. Once everyone had put the lacrosse sticks and baseball gloves down, I picked up the football and started to pass it to Cameron and Isabel for fun. Soon enough my Grandfather started to do what he loved most, COACHING! He started off by teaching us a basic play that was simple to learn. He told us that Cameron would be the quarterback, Iwabel would be the running back and I would be the wide receiver. Grandpa told everyone where to go to start the play correctly. Cameron threw the football to me and I was told to catch it. Next Isabel ran around me as I passed it off to her. Throughout the time we executed the play successfully, my Grandpa’s face looked really happy. He gave us a few pointers and we did it again, but this time my Dad had to try to guard Isabel and me. Luckily the route worked and Isabel scored the touchdown. The second play was a little more complicated. Grandpa taught us how to fake out a defender. When he was explaining how to do the play, we didn’t quite understand it so we asked him to explain it again. This time he showed us how to do it and pointed out where to go when doing the play. Then we did it on our own and we got another touchdown! By the end of the day I could tell Grandpa had a really good time teaching us some football routes that could be used in an actual game!
